    Nursing Application

    Loading...
Missouri Western State University (MoWest) offers a traditional, full-time BSN program to obtain a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. Courses are held in-class on the St. Joseph, MO, campus; not online. This program is designed for students who are not Registered Nurses. Applications for admission are accepted for fall and spring semesters. A cohort of 60 students is accepted per semester. Admission to the program is competitive, therefore, meeting the minimum requirements or obtaining admission to MoWest does not guarantee admission to the BSN program. MoWest's Nursing program is a full-time program and is officially accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The following items are required as part of a completed application:
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher
    • Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS) score of 58.7% (academic preparedness category of proficient) or higher. The highest score achieved will be used in the overall admission decision. The test may be repeated 2 times per calendar year. TEAS tests taken within the past 3 years from the date of application are valid.
    • Completion of MoWest's General Studies requirements and MoWest Nursing prerequisite courses: All general studies and prerequisite courses must be completed or in progress before submitting application. See our sample program for details. Special consideration is given to prerequisite coursework in General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, and Math. Patterns of repeated coursework and course failures are also considered.

    • Submit unofficial college transcripts on this application: Unofficial transcripts from every college/university (including MoWest) you have attended must be uploaded on this application.
